An officer-involved shooting in Lake Havasu City is now under the microscope of the Bullhead City Police Department, following a deadly exchange of gunfire earlier this month. Reflecting standard practice, the Bullhead City detectives have stepped in to piece together an incident that left one person dead during a Lake Havasu City Police operation as reported by the City of Lake Havasu.
On October 9, at around 11 a.m., Lake Havasu City detectives were in the midst of a missing person case at Craggy Wash. It was there they encountered a subject who reportedly decided to quickly open fire, prompting the officers to shoot back, according to Lake Havasu City's official communication.
The aftermath of the event saw the involved detectives, who had miraculously evaded gunfire, treated for minor injuries sustained during the incident. Reassurances have been given that there's no lingering threat to the community's safety from the incident, as the City of Lake Havasu detailed.
